Friday edition of the official gazette that Bolsonaro headed to Florida

What will offshore turbines actually look like in New Jersey? What will the impact be to threatened species of whales? What will the introduction of offshore wind mean for businesses at the Jersey Shore? The questions varied as the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection held virtual and in-person hearings in mid-December for one of various offshore wind proposals. https://opensea.io/collection/livestreams-alabama-vs-kansas-state-live-free-suga https://opensea.io/collection/sugar-bowl-2022-alabama-vs-kansas-state-2022-live https://opensea.io/collection/alabama-vs-kansas-state-sugar-bowl-2022-live-strea https://opensea.io/collection/sugar-bowl2022-kansas-state-vs-alabama-live-stream https://opensea.io/collection/sugar-bowl-2022-game-live-stream-free-tv-broadcast https://pastebin.com/XepLwv56 https://www.geany.org/p/R0OEU/ https://pastelink.net/22dpvqmy https://ide.geeksforgeeks.org/8b4c20fc-3727-4952-94cf-8401fd1be959 https://www.bankier.pl/forum/temat_dsgfdfdsdsfdsf,58327055.html https://mypastelink.com/lgsmwktoac https://pastebin.pl/view/d3534a1f https://rextester.com/NDF64626 https://paste2.org/d68HmdeV https://anotepad.com/notes/ictfrtqb https://etextpad.com/lbycxx5iaz https://justetext.com/yvuWW3Eyb2 https://paste.rs/39Q https://pasteio.com/x3AOaIPFoJNr https://www.pastery.net/zxfbqm/ https://paste.ee/p/HM0O6 https://p.teknik.io/QTLsI https://bitbin.it/rQlGIvgN/ https://paiza.io/projects/MgWu3oHKB6ZbsBdtFMT2gA https://notes.io/qmn5u https://ideone.com/SpYHJl The project, known as Ocean Wind 1, would add 98 wind turbines and other infrastructure for the clean energy alternative to Lacey, Waretown and Berkeley townships in Ocean County as well as Upper Township and Ocean City in Cape May County. It was proposed by Denmark-based energy company Ørsted and PSE&G, based in Newark. While the project was awarded funds in 2019 by the state’s Board of Public Utilities, additional DEP approvals are needed for it to move forward. Peter Peretzman, a spokesman for the BPU, said so far the board has approved three offshore wind projects in New Jersey for a total of 3,758 megawatts of offshore wind capacity. Gov. Phil Murphy said in September that the state’s new goal is to increase offshore electric wind generation to get to 11,000 megawatts of usage by 2040. And while currently no wind turbines have been constructed here, New Jersey’s approach to offshore wind continues to be among the most-discussed topics in the state’s mission toward cleaner energy resources and away from carbon emissions. Ørsted said in a statement that the company will be critical in helping the Garden State reach its clean energy goals. Through Ocean Wind 1, the company said it will reduce carbon emissions equal to removing more than 21 million cars off state roads and provide enough energy to power an average of 500,000 homes every year. According to state officials, Ørsted is working to propose additional turbines in early 2023 for a separate project called Ocean Wind 2. Atlantic Shores, another offshore wind project in the works by both Shell New Energies and EDF Renewables, is also eyeing an area 10-20 miles off the coast of Atlantic City. “Currently, we know that Ocean Wind 1 is 98 turbines, and Atlantic Shores North and South is anticipating approximately 350 turbines with several projects,” said Larry Hajna, a DEP spokesman, noting that additional details are expected when construction and operations plans are submitted to the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management. Speaking during a virtual meeting on Dec. 12 on Ocean Wind 1, Seaside Park Mayor John Peterson said all offshore wind projects in New Jersey should be discussed from “a cumulative perspective” as that will allow attendees to more effectively provide feedback on environmental and other concerns. Arriving with the New Year are toll increases in 2023 on some of the state’s and regions largest toll highways, bridges and tunnels, coming on the heels of hikes in 2020 and 2021. If drivers are left groaning at the news, they have good reason to. The toll increases are piled on top of increased energy, grocery, and housing costs as many see expenses increasing faster than income. Ironically, the agencies that are increasing tolls in 2023 also blamed inflationary cost increases as the reasons for raising toll rates when they approved 2023 budgets in the fall. As a result, drivers using the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, Atlantic City Expressway and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s bridges and tunnels will all see a toll increase in 2023. The authorities are self-supporting, meaning they earn revenue primarily through tolls or other sources, such as concessions. They don’t receive funding from the state gas tax or other taxes. While tolls increase on the Turnpike, Parkway and Expressway on Jan. 1, tolls on Port Authority bridges and tunnels won’t increase until Jan. 8. Tolls on the turnpike, its sister highway the Parkway and southern cousin, the AC Expressway, are increasing for a third straight year. That is due to a process called indexing, which ties a toll increase to economic indicators. The process for imposing a toll increase changed in 2020 on the Turnpike, Atlantic City Expressway and Port Authority. In 2020, the Turnpike Authority and South Jersey Transportation Authority moved to a “toll indexing” process that allows the agency to take an automatic toll increase based on certain economic indicators. The office of Brazil’s vice president says he has become acting president, an indication that President Jair Bolsonaro has left the country and will break tradition by skipping the inauguration Sunday of his political nemesis, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The press office of Bolsonaro’s vice president, Gen. Hamilton Mourão, confirmed to journalists he was acting as president. The handoff of power to the vice president occurs whenever Brazil’s president travels abroad. The Friday edition of the official gazette said that Bolsonaro is headed to Florida, and that several officials were given permission to accompany “the future ex-president” to Miami between Jan. 1 and Jan. 30, to offer “advice, security and personal support.” According to flight tracking websites, the Brazilian military’s official airplane left the capital, Brasilia, around 2 p.m. for Orlando. In Bolsonaro’s absence, it is not clear who will hand over the presidential sash to Lula on Sunday. Mourão’s press office said that is not part of the vice president’s duties. Bolsonaro has remained mostly silent since losing the election Oct. 30. But a few hours before reports of his departure, he addressed the country as president on his social media. At times on the verge of tears, the far-right politician said he wasn’t able to find a legal alternative or enough support to change the course of history and prevent his departure from office. “How difficult it has been to stay quiet for two months, working to find alternatives,” he said. “If you’re upset, put yourself in my place. I gave my life to this country.” Bolsonaro also condemned a recent bomb threat in Brasilia, saying it was not the time to attack people, but rather to try to build an opposition against the future government. “We lost a battle, but we will not lose the war,” he said. “The world does not end on Jan. 1.” A crowd of supporters stood outside the presidential residence in a pouring rain listening for a sign from their leader, and many were left disappointed. Some shouted the words “traitor” and “coward.” One woman cried.
